Say when it ships, before they buy.

Plainly Ships-In puts a processing time on each product page: a store default, a product’s own time, or a rule by tag, collection or vendor. Business days, your cutoff and holidays are counted for you, so “Ships by” is right every day.

Coming to the Shopify App Store in November 2026.

Ships in 3–5 business days

The badge sits wherever you drop it in your theme editor. This one is live: change the settings under “Try the badge”.

The same code runs on real storefronts.

Days you ship

Three steps, then it looks after itself

  1. Set a store default

“Everything ships in 1–2 business days” takes a minute. Choose the days you ship, and a cutoff time if you have one.

  2. Give the exceptions their own time

Pick products from your catalogue, set a time per variant, or write a rule: everything tagged made-to-order ships in 2–3 weeks. Rules follow your tags, collections and vendors as they change.

  3. Add the badge in your theme editor

One click adds the block to your product page; drag it under the price, the buy button, wherever you like. Nothing in your theme’s code is changed, and removing the app removes the badge.

The badge knows your calendar

A date on a product page is only useful if it is right today. The badge works it out in the shopper’s browser from what you set once:

Your business days
Times in business days skip the days you don’t ship.
Your cutoff
Orders after 2:00 pm, say, count from the next day.
Your holidays
Add the days you’re closed; dates roll past them.
Which time wins
A variant’s time beats the product’s, a product’s beats a rule, a rule beats the store default.
Three ways to say it
“Ships in 3–5 business days”, “Ships by Oct 24” or “Ships Oct 22–24”. The wording is yours to edit, in any language.
Nothing to maintain
Rules re-apply when tags, vendors or collections change. The date updates itself every day.

Who makes this

Plainly is a one-person software business. The idea is simple: small, boring tools that do one job well, priced so a maker can afford them, and supported by a person who answers email. Ships-In is the first; the next apps will take the same approach, one at a time.
